How has the faith of the poor… one began by fishermen
and humble tradesmen become the tool of the Elites? At
the beginning of Christ’s ministry upon the earth He declared
in no uncertain terms what is was that He was setting
out to do when He said:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he
hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he
hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance
to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised [provide freedom
and justice to those wrongfully oppressed], To preach
the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book,
and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down.
And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were
fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day
is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” (Luke 4: 18-21)
So how has the Church… and more specifically the American
Church… mucked it all up? Christianity as a whole has
turned away from the message of the Gospels and has replaced
them with marketing strategies, purpose-driven jingoism,
and justification of greed. They have not only turned
their backs upon the poor, but have become an instrument
of oppression towards them… at the hands of the Elite.
There are roughly 6 billion people on this planet and
a great majority of them have probably heard of Christianity.
Yet that which they have heard of is not the Christianity,
which Christ established with His declaration to “…heal
the brokenhearted” and “…preach deliverance to the captives,”
rather instead what they know of the Church is that which
has been marketed and promoted endlessly throughout the
world as the “American version” of Christianity.
It is a faith, which is more comfortable discussing tax
breaks and judicial appointments than turning the other
cheek. It is a faith more likely to find devotees among
the Rockefeller’s and Dupont’s of the world than among
the carpenters and fishermen. Sadly it is also a faith
more inclined to justify the violence and mayhem of warfare
than it is to give more than lip service to loving your
enemy.
In short Christianity has become the Religion of the
State and of those who control it. Whereas Christ called
His followers out of the world into His heavenly kingdom,
today’s Christianity seeks instead to become a part of
the world so that it might control it. Even the Ivy
League is not immune to the push of evangelicalism
gone awry. The very breeding ground of the poor’s Elite
antagonists has now become the latest battleground in
the battle to win back America and the world for Christ.
Matt Bennett, one of the heirs to the Holiday Inn Empire,
and a Cornell graduate spoke of this battle on Ivy League
campuses in a recent interview touting the Christian Union’s
effort to recruit missionaries for campus missions.
“What is happening now is good," Mr. Bennett
said, "but it is like a finger in the dike of
keeping back the flood of immorality."
I wonder how Mr. Bennett defines immorality. No doubt
secular and sensual indulgence are part and parcel of
the collegiate scene these days and no doubt the more
so among the sons and daughters of privilege making up
the Ivy League set. Yet, what about the Bennett family’s
financial empire? Holiday Inn, like all the major hotel
chains derives extreme
profits from their in room sale of pornographic
movies. I guess the reason Bennett only wants to put
one finger in the dike of immorality is so he can count
the money he makes off of it with the rest.
This is the problem when the Elites become enmeshed in
the Church. They pollute it with their hypocrisy and
turpitude. Money is the god of such men… and everything
else is merely window-dressing. Christ said it was easier
for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it
was for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. (Matthew
19: 24) Yet the rich
have seized control of the Church… and in
the process have sullied it beyond repair. True Christianity
should transform the life of the believer into that of
one striving to please Christ. True faith should reveal
the Church (the body of Christ) as a testimony to the
fulfillment of His commandments. Yet in whoring after
the Elites, the Church has instead taken
on the likeness of their corporate masters.
The Church life American style is one, which the Carpenter
from Nazareth would in no way recognize as being of Him.
Rather than being a collection of humble servants drawn
together in Christ through bonds of love, family, and
fellowship… the Church today is a collection of audience
members willing to pay top dollar to whoever can entertain
them and make them feel good about themselves. In this
type of environment it is not the Gospel of Salvation
and the leading of the Holy Spirit, which directs the
Church and its leadership. Instead, MBA’s and marketing
directors work to find the right niche, and present their
“product” in a way palatable to the masses. The word
palatable is very apropos in this case… because what these
churches offer is poisonous pabulum, which goes down easy…
but kills you in the end.
The model of the Church is not that of Christ and the
Apostles… but the Wal-Mart/GM Corporate America plan where
mass appeal and “bigger is better” philosophies rule the
day. And just like Wal-Mart, America’s mega church Christianity
does not really bring too many new “customers” into the
fold… instead it mostly cannibalizes the existing body
of Christ. In Earthly
Empires, one of a series of articles on Yahoo’s
Business Weekly website the business side of evangelical
Christianity is covered in some detail. Included in the
coverage is the Lakewood Church of Houston, Texas.
Lakewood is a gigantic operation headed by Joel Osteen,
son of the late John Osteen, founder of Lakewood. The
senior Osteen himself embraced and practiced most of the
false doctrines now permeated throughout the Church… yet
his son Joel has taken things to a new level. His combination
of apostate doctrine and entrepreneurial savvy has seen
the already immense Lakewood Church explode in membership.
On Osteen and the Lakewood Church journalist William
C. Symonds notes:
“Osteen's flourishing Lakewood enterprise brought
in $55 million in contributions last year, four times
the 1999 amount, church officials say. Flush with success,
Osteen is laying out $90 million to transform the massive
Compaq Center in downtown Houston -- former home of the
NBA's Houston Rockets -- into a church that will seat
16,000, complete with a high-tech stage for his TV shows
and Sunday School for 5,000 children. After it opens in
July, he predicts weekend attendance will rocket to 100,000.
Says Osteen: "Other churches have not kept up, and
they lose people by not changing with the times."
Symonds continues:
“Pastor Joel is one of a new generation of evangelical
entrepreneurs transforming their branch of Protestantism
into one of the fastest-growing and most influential religious
groups in America. Their runaway success is modeled unabashedly
on business. They borrow tools ranging from niche marketing
to MBA hiring to lift their share of U.S. churchgoers.
Like Osteen, many evangelical pastors focus intently on
a huge potential market -- the millions of Americans who
have drifted away from mainline Protestant denominations
or simply never joined a church in the first place.”
Osteen says churches lose people by not changing with
the times… Yet what is really at issue is just what changes
he and other such super-shepherds have made. Out the
window has gone any portion of Christ’s message that is
against the rich, for the poor, or that does not call
Christians into political involvement. Churches like
Osteen’s are bastions of support for neo-liberal economics
and the war on Terrorism. In becoming such entities they
are tools of the Elites, who are the only ones that benefit
from this right wing agenda.
Additionally, once the Church heads in this direction
insofar as its “world view” is concerned it is only a
mater of time before the very operation of these grand
enterprises becomes materialistic and worldly as well.
Symonds brings light to this fact in his reporting on
Willow Creek Community Church of South Barrington, Illinois:
“Once established, some ambitious churches are making
a big business out of spreading their expertise. Willow
Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill., formed
a consulting arm called Willow Creek Assn. It earned $17
million last year, partly by selling marketing and management
advice to 10,500 member churches from 90 denominations.
Jim Mellado, the hard-charging Harvard MBA who runs it,
last year brought an astonishing 110,000 church and lay
leaders to conferences on topics such as effective leadership.
"Our entrepreneurial impulse comes from the Biblical
mandate to get the message out," says Willow Creek
founder Bill Hybels, who hired Stanford MBA Greg Hawkins,
a former McKinsey & Co. consultant, to handle the
church's day-to-day management. Willow Creek's methods
have even been lauded in a Harvard Business School case
study.”
Willow Creek made 17 million
dollars providing marketing and management advice. Putting
aside the issue with Christian marketing and management
advice in general, I wonder how the big-wigs at Willow
Creek justify their profits in light of Matthew
10: 8, which reads:
“Heal the sick, cleanse
the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye
have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10: 8)
Freely ye have received,
freely give… I guess they don’t cover that verse at Willow
Creek conferences.
But hey, Corporate
America isn’t the only one being emulated
here… they are doing a bit of emulating themselves. With
everything from Christian mortgage brokers, Christian
publishing, Christian Music, and Christian clothing lines
pushing their wares in the open market the pie is getting
too big for the Elites to watch from the sidelines. Total
retail sales of Christian merchandise now top 7 billion
dollars… and with that much money at stake the big-boys
are jumping in to get their share. In doing so they are
partnering up with the main players in the Christian world.
By partnering with the giants of the corporate world Christianity
has linked itself up to all the crimes against humanity
perpetrated by the Corporate Elite. From pornography
pushing to derivates markets… the Church is now enmeshed
in it all.
But that is all right with
most of the evangelical leadership. They are in it to
win it any way… and by win it I mean the rat race for
riches… not the race to Christ’s glory of which the Apostle
Paul spoke. In this sense the perfect embodiment of the
evangelical mindset is that of Creflo
Dollar, pastor of the World Changers Church International
in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dollar says quite plainly
that, “The Bible talks more about money than it talks
about heaven” and as such justifies pursuing wealth
and riches as being some sort of Godly mandate for believers.
While the Bible does indeed speak about money quite a
bit, most of the verses are similar to these:
"No servant can serve two masters: for either he
will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will
hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve
God and mammon. (Luke 16: 13)
"... they (meaning Christians) that will be rich
(who desire wealth) fall into temptation and a snare,
and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men
in destruction and perdition. (I Timothy 6: 9)
"For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after, they have erred from the
faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
(I Timothy 6: 10)
"... Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall
hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I
say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the
eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter into
the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 19: 23-24)
"Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your
miseries that shall come upon you." (James 5:1)
"... Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you
before the judgment seats? Do not they blaspheme that
worthy name by the which ye are called?" (James 2:
6-7)
So yes… the Bible does mention money and the rich quite
a bit… yet the words are quite clear that the context
is one of warning against the Church pursuing such things.
Neither Creflo Dollar, the other big players in American
Christianity, or the laity they entertain want to hear
this message though. They choose instead to believe a
lie and in taking this course are leading America and
its Church down the path to eternal destruction.
We have come a long way down this path already. One
example of this is the brazenness and audacity of Christian
America’s involvement in the culture war and politics.
In times past Christians put a fish on the back of their
car… and now they put this:

In today’s Christian America George Bush is the symbol
of the faith… a man after their own hearts. This is quite
fitting because his true allegiance lies to money, power,
and those who have lots of both. Thank God their Christ
is not the true Christ and that their faith is not the
true faith!
Those in power don’t really
care about freedom or democracy any more than they care
about Christ no matter how much they pander to the American
Church. Their end all beat all is wealth, power, and
control… and this is what the new National Security State
is all about. While the Osteen’s and Dollar’s run around
making zombies
out of the masses, the Elites are busy insuring there
can be no domestic resistance to their dreams of world
empire. Just look at the news surrounding the new national
ID requirements on State issued drivers licenses.
This move is the first step in a sequence leading up to
a national ID card, which will in essence give the government
the ability and “right” to keep tabs on the whereabouts
of all its citizens. Of course all this is being done
for your own protection… against terrorists and other
assorted enemies of the state. Yet as a self-professing
Christian nation shouldn’t the US rely a bit more on God
and a little less on Gestapo-type
tactics?
Didn’t Christ say,
“And fear not them which
kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but
rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and
body in hell.”? (Matthew 10: 28)
Indeed He did… but in the
eyes of Christian America… He didn’t have all this wealth
to hold on to. And He was not pushing a system, which
impoverished and enslaved the greater part of the world’s
population as the American Elites are… So in these circumstances
I guess you’ve got to run your house like a garrison lest
the “natives” break out the torches and implement their
own brand of justice.
Another thing you’ve got
to do to run this kind of an operation is to keep the
people at home properly amped-up against the “big threat.”
Back in the Cold War the big threat was of course the
former Soviet Union. After their demise China has gradually
slidden into that role within the US consciousness. Yet
just as much of the former Soviet threat was lies and
propaganda meant to rally the American populace… so too
are the reports of imminent danger from China. It seems
the
US has been lying about China’s military
strength and spending… as well as lying about the power
of the Chinese economy. Just like in the Cold War days
the ruse is perpetrated to keep the American people fixated
on the enemy without, rather than the true enemy within…
and to rake in the trillions in revenue, which come from
defense spending in preparation for war against another
“great power.”
Another prominent lie being
pushed on the populace… especially the Christian populace…
is the menace offered by the Euro and a “European Super
State”. Many Christians misinterpret Biblical prophecy
to see this super state as the land from which the antichrist
will rise to rule the world. Yet both the Euro and the
European Union are creations of the US. Currently the
economies of the western European powers are in serious
crisis. Unemployment is up and investment returns are
down in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and Great Britain.
Currently Germany’s
economy is the lowest ranking of all EU nations
insofar as growth rates are concerned.
The best indication of who controls Europe is to look
at where the economic growth is occurring… because after
all… it is money that makes this world go ‘round. The
economies of the traditional western powers, whose corporations
are already controlled by the US Elites, are either shrinking
or stagnant. Their jobs are being "outsourced"
to the third world… and to where any real growth in Europe
is taking place… former Eastern Bloc nations. These
nations have allowed the Neocons and America’s New World
Order economic system to overrun their countries and turn
their economies into third world models… replete with
sweatshop labor, no union presence, no environmental regulations,
and no hindrances on profits being shipped back to the
American Elites at full value. While “traditional Europe”
withers on the vine... in the east there is a boom taking
place. Yet the boom does not enrich the average Eastern
European… instead it flows back to the US, who holds the
reins on whatever strength the EU might have by controlling
these nations and their economies.
The people who created this
system are those to whom the American Church has wedded
itself... They are those who create phantom enemies in
order to avert people’s eyes from the true adversary.
They are the ones who rape and pillage the earth… and
who happily take along their Christian mouth pieces in
order to have them frame the transgressions as being God’s
work. In every single facet this system is rotten to
the core. Its malignancy has infected the Church beyond
repair… and the Church in turn has infected the country
with a “spiritual rationale” for perpetrating even greater
crimes. There is no hope for recovery and there is no
cure in sight. God has commanded those who TRULY believe
in Him to come out of this terrible two-headed monster.
He knows that remaining within
is compromising with the devil himself. Therefore He
commands His children to leave… because a “kingdom
divided against itself is brought to desolation.”
(Matthew 12: 25) And the kingdom of
the United States of America is not yet destined to fall…
Therefore this means the kingdom is not divided, but harmonious
in its execution of brutality, oppression, enslavement,
and death upon the world. Those loving Christ and His
truth must come out from this satanic entity. Otherwise
they will become irreparably corrupted.
Do your part
in keeping the message of this ministry going. Talk and
pray about these issues with those around you. Speak out
against the evil of our day... and Support
us so that we can continue and expand this
message!

Everyone wants to talk about terrorism and the threats
offered by WMDs in rogue states. They all want to discuss
how our enemies hate freedom and democracy more than anything
else. Yet nobody wants to discuss the real motive behind
the US “war against terrorism.” Aside from the hypocrisy
involved in destroying Iraq and Afghanistan while nations
like North Korea and Uzbekistan are given free passes,
one must look at the big picture in all this. Based upon
the evidence, overwhelming evidence I might add, what
the US military is up to has little to do with stopping
the spread of terrorism and nothing to do with promoting
the spread of Democracy.
While there was nothing to admire about Saddam’s rule
in Iraq or that of the Taliban in Afghanistan… what makes
them different or worse than the regimes in North Korea
or Uzbekistan? For that matter, what is the difference
between Islamic fundamentalism as it is practiced in Iran
or that which is practiced in Pakistan? I ask this because
at this very moment the US is “gearing
up” for war in Iran, while Pakistan is considered
a very close ally in the US “war against terrorism.”
As I said above, you have to look at the big picture
to fully grasp what is important and unimportant to the
powers that be. Democracy, religious freedom, equal rights,
and humanitarian concerns are of no importance whatsoever.
This is proven by US support of the brutal regime in Uzbekistan,
the corrupt Muslim government in Pakistan, and the dark
ages-style monarchy in Saudi Arabia. These governments
are no friends of liberty, freedom, human dignity, or
any of the other pie-in-the-sky buzzwords GW Bush is so
prone to quote. Yet they are allies, trusted friends
and business partners of the American Empire. Meanwhile
we also have to deal with the hypocrisy inherent in destroying
Iraq on the false accusation of possessing WMD’s while
Kim Jong Il’s regime in North Korea has openly declared
they possess such weapons and are in the process of making
more.
What matters to the men at the top is money and the power,
which comes from possessing more of it than anyone else.
In this light you can understand what US actions in the
Middle East and the rest of the world are all about.
A regime can be as oppressive, antichristian and anti-democracy
as they want, as long as they play ball with the US… especially
in those parts of the planet where there is real money
to be made… such as the oil producing regions of the world.
Yet the imperial ambitions of Bush and his elite partners
have to be presented quite differently to the American
public. Come on now, as I’ve said before, you can’t get
middle America to send its sons and daughters to the slaughter
for the good of Exxon-Mobile, now can you? Of course
you can’t… so a greater good has to be invoked upon.
Something bigger than our own selves and our own needs…
and this is just how the expansion of the empire is being
accomplished. Back at the start of all this Bush said
quite strongly this was going to be a crusade…
and though he backed off the statement… the sentiment
it invoked is the very one, which rallies those in the
US to make war on its enemies.
This is possible due in large part to the tremendous
power of America’s false Christian Church. Theirs is
an ideology that readily embraces violence and warfare…
as long as it serves “the greater good.” Theirs is a
religion, which lifts up their country as special before
God and more than morally capable of being God’s “hammer
upon the earth.” Theirs is also a belief system, which
is totally supportive of the avarice and greed of America’s
corporate agenda. Money is God’s sign of blessing goes
the thinking… and America as the richest and most powerful
of all nations is surely the greatest before God.
To sell never-ending war to this ilk one has to sell
it as a crusade… as a war of the cross, which is what
crusade essentially means. So the battles in Afghanistan
and Iraq haven’t just been for secular ideals of freedom
and democracy, but more importantly for Christ and the
Church. Defeating the enemies of God, of which they identify
Islam as a major one, is the noblest of all causes. In
this mindset one may still recoil a bit at the brutalities
involved in war… yet deep in the heart there is a feeling
“we are doing the right thing.”
Believe me, I get tons of emails everyday from friend
and foe alike. Those who support the war and the “Imperial
Agenda” eventually relate their support to me in the above-described
terms. “If we don’t do it who will?” they say… as if
the God who created the heavens and the earth needs depleted
uranium and sado-masochist torture sessions to further
His kingdom on earth.
Recently Bill
Moyer spoke out about unending rightwing
attempts to bring him down and on a larger scale to eliminate
what they see as rampant, unchecked liberalism on US public
broadcasting stations. Within his speech he offers some
really good insights into where the US is headed… and
the fact that a good barometer of the direction is that
of the media itself. The fact that the US media never
questioned going to war and has never offered critical
views on the burgeoning power of the police
state are just two easy examples of the fact
the direction the US is taking is one towards expansionist
police state. In essence, the US media has become a lapdog
of this state… and a dog, which is kept on a short
leash at that. Throw in the religious element,
in which rightwing Christians are leading the charge and
then you should be able to see the prophetic ramifications
of where the US is headed.
Ultimately it’s all about fear.
Fear is the tool used to keep the people in line. Fear
of terrorist, fear of communist, fear of liberals, fear
of homosexuals, fear of secularists… etc. etc. Fear is
also what keeps most real Christians silent in the face
of this onslaught of evil. They fear losing friends,
family, reputation, and jobs so they fail to speak up
against the evil of the day.
Yet quite plainly, this is not good enough for the Lord.
God’s Word is very straight to the point on this matter.
Those who love Him will testify in His name. Those who
do not are deemed unworthy to be called by His name. (See
Matthew 10: 37-38; Matthew 22: 1-8; Mark 8: 38; Luke 9:
26) God is looking for a people willing to testify
on His behalf. He is looking for a people who fulfill
the words of Revelation 12: 11…
“And they overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;
and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
It is up to us to answer
the call…
Once again I want to encourage
everyone to support us in this endeavor. We really do
need your continued financial assistance. To do so just

Usually this journal is filled with personal commentary
and links to articles revealing information pertinent
to prophecy, world events, the church, and the US… along
with how these matters are all related. Today’s journal
is going to be slightly different. In replying to a recent
email I found myself going quite extensively into biblical
prophecy concerning the US as Babylon, the king of Babylon
being the Antichrist, and the fact that Babylon will not
be destroyed until the end of the age. After a bit of
editing I offer you the substance of my foray below with
many links to our writings covering the subject, including
those in our new Encyclopedia
of Terms concerning the end of days [which
is still a growing work-in-progress].
There still seems to be quite a bit of confusion out
there concerning the identity of the US as Babylon
the Great and more specifically the fact of Babylon’s
destruction not coming until the end of the age. Many
people do see the US as Babylon Great, yet mistakenly
believe it will be destroyed or taken out of the way before
the final world empire arrives upon the scene. People
holding this view believe that upon this removal of the
US as world-ruler the Antichrist and his “league of nations”
will arise to conquer the world and fulfill the prophecies
of the Tribulation.
Yet, the Bible is quite clear in pointing out Babylon
the Great, i.e. the United States is not destroyed until
the end of the age... at the conclusion of Daniel's
70th Week. A this point I do implore everyone
to read our writings on this subject... and the scripture
included within, so they can understand and hopefully
agree with this belief. Here is a link to the section
of the Antipas Papers dealing with Babylon the Great:
Chapter
14, The Antipas Papers.
I also encourage everyone to read the entire book thoroughly
if you have not done so already. All of the scriptural
backing for the book is included within. Here is
a link to the book itself: The
Antipas Papers.
Biblical evidence suggests quite clearly that Babylon
will not be destroyed until the end of the age.
Revelation 17 and 18, Isaiah chapters 13 and 14, and Jeremiah
chapters 50 and 51 are where the most pertinent information
concerning Babylon the Great and its destruction are to
be found. Within these passages the circumstances
surrounding its destruction appear to indicate it is to
take place at the beginning of the commencement of the
"Day of the Lord", i.e. the "wrath of God".
The Bible is quite clear in stating God’s Wrath is not
executed upon the earth until the conclusion of the 70th
Week.
In light of this people need to understand that the American
New World Order System is not going anywhere for
some time yet. It will not be destroyed and replaced
by the EU, or a confederation of "First World nations"
like the G-8 or some similar entity. Now there will
be a confederation of nations which will attach itself
to the coming Antichrist,
which will be the leader of the United States, i.e. the
King of Babylon... yet the kings of these nations assume
power specifically to "give their power unto the
beast" i.e. the Antichrist:
Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which
thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom
as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall
give their power and strength unto the beast.
It appears this does not happen until near the mid point
of the 70th Week, since Revelation 17: 14 says:
Rev 17:14 These shall make war
with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he
is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are
with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Next one should step back a bit to the two preceding
verses, Revelation 17: 10-11.
Rev 17:10 And there are seven
kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not
yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short
space.
Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is
not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth
into perdition.
These verses also indicate the kingdom of Babylon the
Great is the final world empire and that it is from out
of this empire, which the Antichrist will arise. It is
also from out of this empire that the Antichrist will
rule when he is transformed into the beast. Revelation
17: 10-11 matches up with other passages of Scripture
indicating it is at the mid point of the Tribulation when
the Antichrist and those in league with him will make
terrible war against the saints of God and will prevail
until Christ returns.
Yet the point to be made at the moment is that the US
as Babylon the Great will not be destroyed until the end
of the age. The passages concerning the
kings past present and future reveal this to us and do
so since there is no interruption between the 7th
and 8th kings. To understand this we need
to go back and look at detail included in the verses.
At the time of John's recording of this prophecy the
5 fallen kings represented those world empires, which
had preceded Rome. These include the Babylonian
Empire, Medo-Persian Empire, and Greek Empire, which can
be verified through study of Daniel 2. [It appears
Daniel only listed those 3 as preceding Rome because his
writings are based upon his interpretation of Nebudchadnezzar's
dream, which begins with his own kingdom. I believe
the two additional fallen empires added in Revelation
17: 10 may be Egypt and Assyria. Both of these kingdoms
conquered, enslaved, or oppressed the Jewish people and
both had fallen before Nebudchadnezzar's reign in Babylon...
yet I am not dogmatic on these two being a part of the
five, which are fallen.]
The next part of Revelation 17: 10 refers to the leader
of the empire ruling the world at the time of the
Revelation.
This is of course the Roman Empire. Next is the
empire which "is not yet come". I believe
scripture does show quite clearly this is the United
States, i.e. Babylon the Great. Going back
to Daniel 2 for a second, one should notice that all the
empires listed in Daniel 2 ruled the geographic area known
as Babylon (Modern day Iraq), yet only Nebudchadnezzar
ruled his empire from Babylon. The Medo-Persians
ruled from Persopolis, Alexander's Greek empire was seated
in Macedonia, and the Romans ruled from Rome. Likewise
the US rules Babylon from Washington.
The passage then says the king of the seventh empire
must continue a short space... this is so because the
reign of the seventh begins the reign of the Antichrist.
Whereas the US has been THE world power for a bit of time
now... its tenure as the dominant nation of the world
is not nearly as lengthy as the time span of the 6 previous
world empires [though I will say the Assyrian empire
was fairly short-lived as well... and this is one reason
why I am not dogmatic on including them as one of the
5 fallen].
Specifically though, the reign of the king of the seventh
will not be that long and there are multiple passages
in the Revelation which indicate as such. Yet it will
be more than long enough for the rest of the world.
Next we learn of the eighth, which is of the seven and
is described as the "beast that was, and is not...
and goeth into perdition." The seventh
kingdom is the US and the seventh king is its ruler...
this man is also to be the Antichrist. The first
part of his reign is as a man. Yet, at the mid-point
of the Tribulation he is transformed into something else.
The Bible also depicts this as the time when the Beast
receives its "mortal head wound" from which
it is thought to be dead... but miraculously recovers:
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his
heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound
was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
When John writes of the beast that "was and is not"
he is noting his earlier Revelation in chapter 13, verse
3. At the midway point of the Tribulation, when
the Antichrist commits the Abomination
of Desolation, he his henceforth described as
the beast. At this point the seventh becomes the
eighth... because he is no longer a man... but as the
Bible infers has been transformed into the beast... incarnate
of Satan himself. To more fully understand this
situation please do read our writings on the Abomination
of Desolation available here: Chapter
8, The Antipas Papers
Finally Revelation 17: 11 notes this king which has become
a beast, i.e. the 8th, which comes out of the seven "goeth
into perdition." This coincides with Revelation
17: 8, which says,
Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest
was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless
pit, and go into perdition...
The reference of going "into perdition" indicates
he will go about causing great persecution and destruction
upon the whole of the world... most particularly upon
the Church and the remnant of Israel, who are God's Two
Witnesses during the 70th Week of Daniel.
The time period in which this is done is the second half
of Daniel's 70th Week, a time the Bible notes as a time
of great tribulation, i.e. the Great Tribulation.
Therefore the time line for these events would be as
follows:
-
Five world empires rise and fall leading up to the
Roman Empire.
-
John records the Revelation during the rule of Imperial
Rome, the 6th world empire.
-
After a long absence of any such powerful world-ruling
entity, the US, the most powerful of all rises as
the 7th world empire, which the Bible call Babylon
the Great.
-
The ruler of this 7th world empire, i.e. the 7th
king, initiates the events beginning Daniel's 70th
Week, i.e. the Last Seven Years, i.e. the Tribulation.
-
At the midway point of the 70th week the 7th king
commits the Abomination of Desolation, in which he
is no more known as a man, but henceforth the beast
and is now the 8th, which is of the seven. [Once
again please do read Chapter
8 of the Antipas Papers to understand what
the Abomination of Desolation is all about.]
-
The king of Babylon, i.e. the ruler of the US, then
goes into perdition bringing great destruction and
persecution upon the world, specifically upon the
Church and Israel until the end of the 70th Week.
-
At the conclusion of the 70th Week Babylon the Great
is destroyed and the beast (the Antichrist) along
with the false prophet, and the dragon (Satan himself)
are defeated as God's Wrath takes place in the form
of the judgment of the Seven
Vials.
There is much more to talk about concerning this subject,
but I am going to wind things down for now. I really
hope everyone will examine our writings on this subject
and more importantly the scriptures on which they are
based. It is important for people to fully realize the
significance of the United States in Prophecy. It is
important for them to realize the place of the American
Church in prophecy as well. Though not mentioned in this
commentary, she is right along side the beast in all of
this. She is the Woman
that rides the beast, which is Babylon the Great (Revelation
17: 1-7). God has called His children out of both
the woman and the beast she rides. He has also called
His saints throughout the world to testify against this
entity, this merging of false Christian religion and overwhelming
state power.
It is the prayer of those of us here at Antipas Ministries
that our readers will heed God’s Word on this. It is
also our prayer that you will support us
in our efforts to further this message of truth. We really
need your help on this matter and your support will go
a long way towards helping us reach even more people with
this message.
Christian Fascism is a term that is more and
more coming into its own. As recently as two years ago,
hardly anyone on the mainstream or secular side of things
realized the US was emerging as a Christian fascist state
and not surprisingly even fewer on the “Christian”
side were making the connection. Well, it seems that there
are finally a few folks out there starting to sit up and
take notice of something we at Antipas Ministries have been
writing about for quite
some time… the emergence of Christian
Fascist America.
What more proof do we need of how the wind is blowing than
recent news from North Carolina of a Baptist
minister removing several congregants for being
unrepentant about casting votes for John Kerry in 2004 and
being unsupportive of the conservative Republican message
being preached from the pulpit of this church? I realize
most everyone is familiar with the details of this affair
by now… yet it is still amazing to see the increasingly
fascist tones of American Christianity reveal themselves
out in the open.
Some might say labeling what is going on at the East Waynesville
Baptist Church as fascism is harsh… or a bit of a
stretch… but those are probably the same folks who
tell you it is OK to keep attending and supporting your
local apostate church no matter how far from God’s
truth it has fallen. They are also probably the same people
who still tell others the US goal in Iraq and the Middle
East is to spread democracy… The simple fact of the
matter, however, is that what is going on in Waynesville,
North Carolina and countless other churches large and small
across America is fascism in its most effective and destructive
form.
When Hitler and the Nazi Party were ascending the ranks
of power in Nazi Germany in the early 1930’s, one
of their primary objectives was to secure the support of
the churches and the clergy. Upon assuming power, Hitler
eventually required German clergymen to sign oaths of loyalty
to the Nazi state. Those failing to comply (roughly 2000)
were arrested and sent to prison camps. What had happened
in Nazi Germany was the church had become conjoined to the
Nazi state. Complete loyalty was required among clergymen
and the laity alike.
Now in 2005 Americana we are seeing a similar process in
action. In this version the churches are in at the ground
level. They are the backbone of this neo-fascist movement
and they are also the leadership. Though there can be no
doubt a certain level of expediency is involved in the professions
of Christian faith by GW Bush and other heavy-hitters on
the right… there can also be no doubt their Christian
pedigrees (albeit apostate) are much more legitimate than
those of their Nazi forbearers. Though slightly different
from the Christian tint of Germany’s National Socialism,
America’s Christian Fascism is ever more dangerous
to the world at large… and true believers still within
the American Beast.
No matter how much a Jew or a Slav embraced Nazi ideology,
he was still a Jew or a Slav (not a German by blood) and
therefore was still unable to be a part of the Volk.
In this way National Socialism was bound by concepts of
Aryan racial supremacy, therefore the racial element superceded
the religious element. America’s Christian Fascism
has no such limitations. Though racism has and always will
be a problem in America’s Christian Fascism, race
itself is not a limiting factor for this ideology. All races
can be accepted to a certain degree within the construct
of American Christian Fascism… all that is necessary
is to share the same false belief system.
What exactly is this belief system? Well it is Dominionist,
i.e. Post
Millennial, and it is also a belief system
that favors the rich
over the poor. It is one that glorifies
war… as long as it is being fought in
a good versus evil context and most importantly, this belief
system has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH TRUE FAITH IN CHRIST.
The reality is that war is rarely about anything other
than greed. The Bible says the “love of money
is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:
10) and the evil of war itself are no exception.
One need only examine what the current war in Iraq is really
all about. Whereas the company line sells the war as America’s
attempt to bring democracy to Iraq, the truth reveals money
as the root of this evil. Billions upon billions have been
made by the US Elite off of this bloody enterprise and even
more is at stake down the road. The Bible paints a future
of increasing warfare throughout the world and at the heart
of it all will be the lust for money. Look at The
Intensifying Global Struggle for Energy to
see what I am talking about. Nations may cloak their actions
under the pretense of nationalism, justice, and democracy…
but more often than not it is about wealth and the power,
which comes with it.
The US is in the Middle East due to the strategic importance
it has as the most prolific oil-producing region in the
world. It is in the Caspian Region for the same reason.
The same holds true with US involvement and subterfuge in
Columbia, Venezuela, and Africa. All of these areas hold
tremendous petroleum reserves and the US Elites are committed
to controlling them… and the wealth they produce…
no matter the cost. Even if that cost is war on a scale
never before seen.
To bring it all back full-circle… the key in this
all is that the Elites can’t send thousands of young
Americans and millions of peasants throughout the world
to their deaths on the pretense of securing oil wealth and
the greater power coming through control of the world’s
petroleum. Instead there has to be a greater good involved.
This is where the Religious
Right, i.e. the Christian Fascists come into
play.
Through its marriage to the US beast-state, the American
Church gives legitimacy to US imperial aims. It paints them
as being the cause of Christ, instead of that of “filthy
lucre”. Whereas Middle America won’t send
their sons and daughters off to die for Exxon-Mobile…
they will for their Lord and Savior. Whereas Americans might
feign squeamishness about supporting death squads, genocide,
and slave labor in the third world for the good of Wall
Street… they will do so to battle the enemies of the
cross.
American Christian Fascism is a twisted and convoluted
thing. While it ultimatley serves the interests of the US
Elites... those Elites also serve the interests of the Christian
Fascist. They are dedicated to their vision of a world conquered
for their version of Christ... and the Elites are more than
willing to bankroll the enterprise since the wealth of the
world is at stake in the process. This disgusting version
of Christianity bears no resemblance to the truth in Christ,
yet it uses His name as a self-serving logo. While denying
the very spirit of God’s Word it uses it as a bludgeon
with which to subdue the world. In doing so it will bring
about God’s wrath on a scale never before seen (Revelation
18). This wrath will fall upon all who are within
the host-nation of this terrible malignancy. For this reason
God is calling His children out of the US… because
remaining within guarantees they will become participants
in the evil actions to come. Just as the German Church was
complicit in the sins of the Nazi State… so too will
all who remain within the US… whether professing to
be Christian or not.
May 5, 2005
Have you ever wondered how you can talk to
“Christian” friends and relatives about the
issues, you know… important stuff… and they
seem to have a completely different understanding of the
facts than you? Have you ever wondered how you can read
the Bible and take it literally to mean one thing…
while those same people seem to take all sorts of important
passages out of context, completely disregard others, or
spiritualize them away? Have you wondered how “Christians”
most especially those in America have somehow twisted the
words of the Bible to paint the US as “God’s
redeemer nation” or something similar?
I am sure many of you have run across this. What you have
to realize is there is an incredible level of self-censorship
and message control within American Christendom. Rather
than letting the Holy Spirit lead them into understanding
on matters of the Word and world events related to it…
Christians instead have subjected themselves to a tightly
controlled message that discourages individual analysis
of God’s Word and also discourages Christians from
applying the reality of Christ’s Words to our present
world situation. If the message doesn’t come from
the mouth (or pen) of a Rick Warren, James, Dobson, James
Kennedy, Tim Lahaye, Pat Robertson, etc. then it has no
weight… no matter whether it is Biblically sound or
not.
The Church has allowed these men, along with their pseudo-secular
counterparts (men like Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly,
Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Michael Ledeen, etc.) to
define most every issue for them. Whether the issues are
Biblical in nature (prophecy, doctrine, our testimony, etc.)
or “real-world issues” like economics, social
issues, foreign policy, war, etc… The Church follows
the lead of those who tell it how to think and is willing
to do so in order for the chance to reap the benefits of
life in the here and now.
A tremendous propaganda machine has been constructed over
the past few decades explicitly to provide the marching
orders for these Christian soldiers…. To tell them
what issues are important, how they should feel about them,
what they should do about those feelings, and more and more
how they should remake the US in the image desired by those
at the top. I think most people out there are aware of how
powerful the “secular side” of this propaganda
machine is… but I am not sure everyone out there realizes
how all encompassing the “religious side” of
it is. Though the two are rapidly merging into one…
the rise in power of the religious “news and information”
establishment still bears noting.
Programs like Pat Robertson’s 700 Club and James
Dobson’s Focus on the Family are merely the tip of
an ever-expanding
iceberg. This behemoth now encompasses a plethora
of Christian rightwing radio networks and programs, which
operate on both a local and national level. Television,
magazines, literature, music, and all the other media niches
have been covered by this monster as well. The message is
concerted and it is decidedly pro-America, pro-rightwing,
pro-neoliberalism, pro-war, and pro-ecumenical. Within this
polluted stream one can sing the praises of the prosperity
gospel, the President’s piety, the Purpose Driven
Life, and America call to rid the world of evil… all
at the same time.
There is a uniformity of message, vocabulary, and thought;
which borders on the cultic and likewise is just as impenetrable
to anyone willing to debate someone who has been swept away
in this movement. Make no mistakes about it… the message
is a dangerous one indeed. They see the war in Iraq as the
beginning of a long holy war, which will see God’s
American forces overrun those of the satanic Muslim world.
A recent analysis on the burgeoning Christian media empire
by Mariah Blake, of the Columbia Journalism Review sheds
light on this sentiment:
“Some political talk shows go even further out
on the apocalyptic edge. Among them is the 700 Club, which
airs on numerous mainstream stations and reaches about a
million U.S. viewers each day. Its February 25 edition featured
an interview with a man named Glenn Miller, touted on the
700 Club Web site as a “proven prophet.” A scholarly
looking man, Miller sat nestled in an armchair, a faux-urban
skyline glittering in the background, and explained why
God had sent America to war with Iraq. “It has nothing
to do with terrorism,” he told Pat Robertson’s
son, Gordon. “It has nothing to do with oil. It has
everything to do with that there’s 1.2 million Muslims
that have been deceived by the false God Allah, and that
the God of heaven, Jehovah, is now in the process of doing
war if you will against that spirit to . . . break the power
of deception so those people can be exposed to the gospel.”
As Miller spoke, Robertson nodded in sympathy. At one point,
Robertson chimed in with the tale of a CBN reporter who
was embedded with one of the first infantry divisions to
march into Baghdad: “He said there was a sense among
the troops — and he had this personal sense as well
— that this was a spiritual victory, that this was
a movement in the heavenlies.”
A spiritual victory… in the eyes of American Christendom,
this is what Iraq and the larger “war against terrorism”
are all about…. Christian America’s vanquishing
of their infidel Muslim foes. The devastation of Fallujah,
civilian casualties, and the kinky horrors of Abu Graib
are all a part of this “spiritual victory.”
This sentiment is openly expressed in the Christian media
machine and is alluded to on the right-wing “secular
side” of things. This lock-step approach also carries
over into media coverage of social issues like gay marriage,
abortion, and the recent Terry Schiavo case. All across
America, tens of millions of “Christians” get
their thoughts, opinions, arguments, and “scriptural
backing” from these propaganda outlets. Prodded along
like cattle at the stockyard they lurch from issue to issue,
spouting whatever their icons tell them to say. Actual facts
matter not if the Dobsons and Hannitys of the world haven’t
endorsed them… even if the facts in question are those
of clear Biblical origin.
This narrow view is necessary to remake America into a
theocratic
empire. There is no room for debate, the countenance
of alternative views, real biblical scholarship, or obeisance
to Christ’s commandments when those things hinder
the goal of dominion. To keep the people in line in this
a system with such grandiose plans there has to be a singular
message. Deviation from this message cannot be accepted…
and this is what the rightwing Christian/secular media machine
is all about. Just like the clothes on your back were mass
produced in some sweatshop outside of Jakarta, so to have
the thoughts of your “Christian” neighbors been
mass produced by the propaganda machine.
Yet, while the little people are forced to stay on message…
those at the top are given leeway to “operate in the
real world” so to speak. Whereas the message from
the top regarding US ambitions in the Middle East, Asia,
and beyond is to spread freedom and democracy… reality
(read hypocrisy) means the President has to hold hands with
Muslim Saudi princes, and coddle genocidal dictators to
serve America’s interests. THIS IS NOT CHRISTIANITY…
IT IS MACHIAVELLIANISM. It is a “means justifies the
ends” type of belief system in which murder, poverty,
famine, and oppression are justified when they serve the
interests of those in power.
Recently Katherine
Yurrica wrote about rightwing “Christian”
personality Michael Ledeen’s love affair with Machiavelli,
quoting words from his own book on the prince. Examine the
quote below and tell me how to rationally justify attaching
the name of Christ to this type of philosophy:
“There are several circumstances in which good
leaders are likely to have to enter into evil: whenever
the very existence of the nation is threatened; when the
state is first created or revolutionary change is to be
accomplished; when removing an evil tyrant; and when the
society becomes corrupt and must be restored to virtue…Saving
a state that has sunk into corruption is Machiavelli’s
most passionate concern…” (pp. 101-102)
In the Machiavellian world of American Christianity there
are circumstances where good leaders (read Christian leaders)
will have to “enter into evil” in order to protect
the “greater good”. Yet Christ makes no such
exception to following His commandments or resisting evil
in all its forms… instead the Bible says,
“For if the truth of God hath more abounded through
my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as
some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may
come? whose damnation is just.” (Romans 3:
7-8)
The Bible shows us that those who would practice and teach
such doctrine are justified for damnation. Christ calls
us to:
“…love ye your enemies, and do good, and
lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be
great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for
he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore
merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and
ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be
condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and
it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down,
and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into
your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal
it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke
6: 35-38)
Where in the railings of Michael Ledeen or in all the propaganda
of the Christian Right are these words fulfilled? Rather
than glorify the words of Christ and His New Testament teachings,
men like Pat Robertson continue to spout on about the peril
of “liberal judges” to America’s standing
as the apple of God’s eye. Robertson considers the
threat
of liberal judges more severe than that of
Al Qaeda. He says:
"It depends on how you look at culture. If you
look over the course of a hundred years, I think the gradual
erosion of the consensus that's held our country together
is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who
fly into buildings. I think we're going to control al Qaeda.
I think we're going to get Osama bin Laden. We won in Afghanistan.
We won in Iraq, and we can contain that. But if there's
an erosion at home, you know, Thomas Jefferson warned about
a tyranny of an oligarchy and if we surrender our democracy
to the tyranny of an oligarchy, we've made a terrible mistake."
In Robertson’s eyes the US has won in Afghanistan
and Iraq… and they will continue to win against all
the other Islamic terrorist regimes (read Syria, Iran, etc.)…
The great enemy to the US is that of a “tyranny of
oligarchy” by which he means liberal judges controlling
the judiciary. To Robertson and millions of rightwing Christians
this is the next great battle field in the fight against
evil. Though Bush is presently dancing
around the hard-line message… he too
believes God has given him a mandate to remake the judiciary.
I doubt he goes so far as to fear that same “tyranny
of oligarchy”, which Robertson does… since the
Bush family is an actual part of the REAL “tyranny
of oligarchy”… that of the Elites.
Where is all of this headed you may ask? What are the ramifications
of the Church being turned into a herd of zombies
who merely parrot what their rightwing leaders and the corporate
Elites tell them? It will get increasing difficult to hold
an opposing view… or to question the party line. Already
your boss can fire
you for holding a contrary political view and
speaking out on your own time against Republicans. It won’t
be too much longer before he can fire you for holding contrary
religious views… especially if those views also indict
his economic beliefs. If you are a true believer in America…
will you still stand up for the truth at that point? Will
you risk your job… your livelihood for the true testimony
of Christ? Are you speaking out now? If you are not now
I doubt you will then… when there is a real cost attached
to it.
All in all I believe most who choose to stay in the US
will shut their mouths so as not to draw negative attention
to themselves. The pressure to do otherwise will be too
great. This coming absence of testimony will be a testimony
in itself… one of shame. It is my prayer American
believers will heed God’s word and come
out of the US and not willingly place themselves
in this snare.
May 3, 2005
I hope everyone is enjoying and making full
use of the updated version of the Antipas
Ministries website. A great deal of our labor
over the past few months has gone into the redesign and
there is still more on the way. Do feel free to offer us
your feedback on the new look.
It has been a while since the journal was updated, but
I wanted to wait until I got the new version of ISRP up
to do so. Thankfully, today is that day…
More often than not the news focuses on what is going on
in Iraq, when delving into coverage of the US “war
on terror”. Forgotten in the shuffle is the terrible
humanitarian crisis taking place in Afghanistan. To refresh
everyone’s memory… Afghanistan is where all
this business started… so to speak. Back when the
“war on terror” was all about capturing Osama
Bin Laden, Afghanistan was the first nation to feel the
wrath of the US death machine. In the process thousands
of civilians have been killed, an already poor country has
been made the most poverty-stricken of all nations, and
Bin Laden was never caught. Sadly, Afghanistan is once again
the number one producer and exporter of opium (which makes
you wonder how the US is profiting of the drug trade over
there)… and the millions of pounds of depleted
uranium munitions expelled over there are causing
a rapid rise in cancer rates, birth defects, and still births.
Furthermore, it goes without saying that these same horrible
weapons have been used extensively in Iraq…
with the same terrible results. I guess when you set out
to “fight evil” it is OK to use evil weapons…
I guess when God is on your side it is alright to kill ‘em
all through any means possible.
Bush said back at the beginning that this was a crusade…
one of good versus evil. Crusade of course is a religious
term, and in using such a term (which he later backed off
publicly) he put it out there quite plainly that the good
Christian US was going to take it to the evil Muslims (Afghanis,
Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians, etc). Yet lost on Bush and his
supposedly Christian American followers is the fact that
Christ would never kill the just with the unjust…
He would never cause hunger, malnutrition, death, dismemberment,
and deformity to the least of this world. From the beginning
this whole affair has been an exercise in unholy warfare…
The most terrible thing of all is that Bush and the American
Church have attached the name of Christ onto their heinous
crimes… Better to be Osama… than one of them…
on that day.
The reality of the situation is that those who stand to
gain the most from all this violence have no concern toward
the Carpenter from Nazareth. Instead they are in it for
wealth and power. How much Bush has bought into the apostate
faith he is pushing I know not… but the American Church
has bought it all hook, line, and sinker. Way back in 2000
Steve said, “The Church has bought into the elite’s
game.” He said that in a appropriately named article,
“We
Are All Being Played For Suckers.” This
is a bonafide fact indeed.
The Church has bought into the lie. They believe the US
military is being sent out there to battle evildoers and
those who hate freedom and democracy. They believe this
because it is expedient to do so… not because it is
the truth. They choose to willingly swallow the lie so they
can continue to enjoy the privileges afforded those who
go along to get along and they choose to believe so they
don’t have to take drastic action to the contrary.
The plain truth is that God will have harsh judgment for
those who have gone this way. The Bible says it would be
better for them had they never “believed” at
all… than to have been in league with the Truth, only
to desert it for a lie:
For it had been better for them not to have known the
way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to
turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (2
Peter 2: 21)
What exactly does it mean to “turn from the holy commandment
delivered unto them?” If Peter was talking about the
commandments as Christ saw them, then you have to conclude
he was referring to this:
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord
thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And
the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and
the prophets.” (Matthew 22: 37-40)
Looking at Peter’s words in that way makes it is
easy to see the US is far down the road to perdition. Look
at the following link, which chronicles the “Christianization
of the armed forces” and then re-examine
Christ’s commandment. Think about it… can a
nation be “Christian” when it spends the largest
amount of its tax money on waging war… and doing so
as a supposedly “Christian military”? Which
part of loving your neighbor as yourself includes linking
the name of Jesus up to the world’s most powerful
killing machine?
Now I know some of you are going to say, but Sean what
about those people in the military… they can’t
be Christians? I say… Sure they can… Christ
is King. He can come to us, enter our lives, and make us
a new creation in Him no matter where we are… The
problem occurs when people do not come to the real Jesus…
the Prince of Peace… the man who said loving your
neighbor as yourself was one of the two commandments on
which hang all the law and prophets. This false religion
has nothing to do with Christ, but is instead an institutional
contrivance, which has been constructed to provide moral
justification for what can only be described as completely
immoral activities. Those who mix the name of Christ with
this satanic entity are in danger of Peter’s words
in 2 Peter 2.
With most such corrupt entities you can usually find ample
evidence of their malignancy at the top. This one is no
different. One has to look no further than the corruption
of the Bush
family to see the bad tree-bad fruit rule in
action. That GW has been able to pass himself off as a true
believer, his family as a wholesome Christian family, and
his political agenda as God’s agenda reveals just
how divorced from the truth the American Church is. Think
about it… anyone with even a modicum of faith in the
true living God should have their very spirit crying out
at the falsehood, injustice, and cold-heartedness of what
Bush and company are all about… Yet instead those
in the US who claim to have the most faith are pushing an
antichrist agenda.
In the Bible God calls His children to separate themselves
from this entity… He tells them to come out of her.
As I have said numerous times on this page, I pray that
everyone takes Him seriously on this matter.
April 23, 2005
To say the least the economy
seems very unsettled right now. Fuel, interest rates, and
the cost of living (food, clothes, etc) are up; while wages
and confidence in the economy are down. Many prognosticators
and armchair theologians see these trends as signs the US
is headed down the road to oblivion. Along with the low
dollar and the quagmire in Iraq, they view these things
as being the beginning of America’s decline. Prophetically
this type of thinking just doesn’t add up.
There is no doubting the fact average Americans
are becoming poorer by the day, but this in no way diminishes
the wealth and power of the US corporate elites. Their model
is the Wal-Mart
model, which does not necessitate average Americans
taking part in their prosperity. Instead this model focuses
on cheap labor abroad and no tariffs at home. It also focuses
on having a government in place to run interference for
the corporate agenda… one that removes regulations
designed to make corporations accountable for the actions
and one that subsidizes their efforts with money from the
very tax-payers whose jobs they are shipping overseas.
In this environment US power will grow, not
diminish… especially since the US military is unrivaled
in power throughout the world. At the basest of levels this
is all that really matters any way. It is not as if the
world is becoming a more compassionate and reasonable place…
a place where countries settle their disputes in ways other
than violence. No, instead the world is the same as it ever
was… only worse. Darwinism reigns supreme in the League
of Nations… as such the US is top dog and has no rival.
In this light the nation most able to threaten and execute
violence upon its neighbors is the most powerful.
A lot of times I think people just don’t
realize how much of the world the US actually controls.
Take the election of Cardinal
Ratzinger to his new position as Pope Benedict
for an example. The largest growing segment of the Catholic
world today is the third world. Latin America and Africa
are where the numbers are… insofar as the Catholic
Church is concerned. These two areas are also two of the
poorest in the world. The social issues which dominant religious
discussion in North American and Europe are not as important
to people living in poverty and near starvation. To these
people economic issues are at the forefront on all matters…
even those of faith. Yet the church in Rome disregarded
any candidate that might be a voice for the poor and oppressed
and instead chose the man most in line with promoting the
US bottom-line, just as was his
predecessor. The Church in Rome, like their
protestant cousins serves the interests of the US corporate
beast over those of Christ and their own people. The announcement
of Pope Benedict only confirms this fact all the more.
Based upon their common ground it is not surprising
to see US evangelicals fawning
over the new Pope. He is one of their own… an anti-socialist,
pro-neo-liberalist, pro-US military, anti-abortionist, and
pro-western. He is a man who has no idea about the true
message of Christ… and instead pushes one of dominion
in the here and now for the Church… and the men of
power who control her.
As I said above, the US is top dog. Military
power is the reason why. It is this power that makes US
economic domination of the world possible. It is this power
that causes Rome to cower to the demands of Washington.
This power is all the more effective because the American
people are more than willing
to use it. With the direction the world is
headed… the fact of US military supremacy on a ridiculous
scale and the fact that the American people, a supposed
Christian people, are more than willing use it… is
the most significant thing. The mandate of US armed forces
is to protect America’s economic interests throughout
the world. When it all comes down to it… they will
do so with all the power at their disposal.

The idea of Christian warfare is an absurd
one at best. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. He is
the One who said, “But I say unto you, That ye
resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right
cheek, turn to him the other also” (Matthew
5:39). Yet the American Church seems to not give
any credence whatsoever to the straightforward words of
the Savior.
Instead we find a populace committed to doing
whatever is necessary to ensure Iraq doesn’t end up
another Vietnam. Sadly this doesn’t mean they are
committed to preventing the loss of life that took place
in Southeast Asia a few decades back. Instead it means they
are willing to support whatever level of violence and destruction
is necessary to ensure an American “victory”
in Iraq.
Even more sadly, it’s not just the armchair
warriors who are attaching the name of Christ to their own
appetite for destruction, but many of the men and women
serving in the armed forces as well. At this point I want
to make a very clear distinction. There are genuine Christians
serving in America’s armed forces, just as there were
genuine Christians serving in the Legions of Rome. Yet a
great deal of what passes for Christianity in the armed
forces is merely a vehicle that has been used to justify
the brutal actions necessary to wage and win the war in
Iraq... and the simple fact remains that at some point all
true servants of the Lord will have to divorce themselves
from the American Beast and its military machine.
Look at the quote below, from Aiden
Delgado, an Army Reservist in the 320th Military
Police Company and tell me if his Christian friend’s
testimony is that of the Prince of Peace… or of the
forces of darkness.
[Quote taken from the Q & A segment
of Delgado’s story]
Q: Were there
any other incidents?
DELGADO: The
worst incident that I was privy to was in late November.
The prisoners were protesting nightly because of their living
conditions. They protested the cold, the lack of clothing,
the rotting food that was causing dysentery. And they wanted
cigarettes. They tore up pieces of clothing, made banners
and signs. One demonstration became intense and got unruly.
The prisoners picked up stones, pieces of wood, and threw
them at the guards. One of my buddies got hit in the face.
He got a bloody nose. But he wasn't hurt. The guards asked
permission to use lethal force. They got it. They opened
fire on the prisoners with the machine guns. They shot twelve
and killed three. I know because I talked to the guy who
did the killing. He showed me these grisly photographs,
and he bragged about the results. "Oh," he said,
"I shot this guy in the face. See, his head
is split open." He talked like the Terminator.
"I shot this guy in the groin, he took three
days to bleed to death." I was shocked. This
was the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. He was a
family man, a really courteous guy, a devout Christian.
I was stunned and said to him: "You shot an unarmed
man behind barbed wire for throwing a stone." He said,
"Well, I knelt down. I said a prayer, stood
up and gunned them all down." There was a
complete disconnect between what he had done and his own
morality.
Think about it for a moment. This was no instinctual
reaction to someone shooting at you. It wasn’t a case
